Growth Region Hansalinie goes online!

June 2, 2009

The new homepage presents up-to-date information about the activities and events carried out by the initiative.

The five administrative districts Cloppenburg, Diepholz, Oldenburg, Osnabrück and Vechta along the A1 motorway (the so-called "Hanseatic Line") have joined forces within the framework of a cooperation agreement to form the Growth Region Hansalinie ("Wachstumsregion Hansalinie"). The objective of the collaboration is to attain positive effects for the companies and businesses in the region and thus further strengthen this common economic zone. Hand in hand with the region's companies, universities, and institutes and facilities with close links to industry, the alliance intends to preserve and enhance the special location qualities of the region.

Key priorities of the joint work lie in building up business networks and in realising jointly funded projects in the 5 regional competence fields: logistics, the plastics industry, Environmentally Compatible Technologies, mechanical engineering, and the food industry. The organisation of the networks in these 5 areas has already begun, the first projects have been successfully initiated, and 2009 will be characterised by extensive location marketing for the region.
