Call for proposals for research projects – BIG helps in the search for project partners and drawing up applications.

The systematic investigation of possible effects and interactions of nanoparticles on human beings – that is the subject of a current call for proposals published by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The ministry invites companies, higher education institutions and research establishments throughout Germany to set up joint projects that are concerned with research and development ventures on the theme "Effects of synthetic nanomaterials on humans – NanoCare". The greatest possible participation of small and medium-sized enterprises is expressly desired by the BMBF. Interested companies or institutes can submit their project outlines to the BMBF up until 26 February 2009 . They can look forward to a support grant covering up to 50 percent of the project-related costs. The central service-providing body for business and economic development in Bremen, Bremer Investitions-Gesellschaft mbH (BIG), offers assistance and advice to interested enterprises from Bremen as regards project formulation, drawing up the application, and finding project partners.

The tender documents from the BMBF are available in the Internet at http://www.bmbf.de/foerderungen/13084.php or can be obtained from BIG.
