The Automotive Competence Alliance in the Osnabrück Economic Area (Automotive Kompetenzverbund Osnabrück) is a legally dependent cooperation offer from the two business development agencies of the City and District of Osnabrück, WFO Wirtschaftsförderung Osnabrück GmbH and WIGOS Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Osnabrücker Land mbH. The alliance offers a platform for cooperation and innovation for the automotive industry in the region. In a joint alliance of the participating companies, projects are initiated and realised whose implementation lies within the common interest of the alliance partners.

The Cluster Automotive Nordwest is the platform of the automotive industry and its partners in the North West of Germany. With production plants of Daimler AG in Bremen, Volkswagen in Emden and many supplier companies with around 90,000 employees, the automotive sector is one of the most important industries in the region. The Cluster has made its mission to raise awareness of the region as an automotive center of excellence and to foster cooperation and information exchange between the members of the network.

The objective is to foster and promote the aerospace industry in the metropolitan region of Bremen-Oldenburg. Bremen enjoys trans-regional importance in the European aviation industry and together with Hamburg commands a leading role in Germany. In addition to Airbus, Bremen has a multitude of excellent SMEs and scientific institutions. AVIABELT Bremen e.V. particularly supports its members in the development of expertise and in the penetration and development of new markets.

As a competence centre for transport, traffic and logistics in the Weser-Ems region of Northwest Germany, LOGIS.NET forms an open network for innovative partners from business and industry, the university community, professional associations, and organisations who want to enhance their competitiveness through joint cooperations. LOGIS.NET aims to optimise logistics services in the region and achieve a more effective utilisation of existing resources.

The mobility cluster in northern Germany. ITS mobility is a widely ramified, active network that profitably connects business and science. Over 200 research institutions, industrial partners, small and medium-sized companies, associations, authorities and experts are members of the cluster.

In June 2002, the Niedersachsen state government and the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen launched one of the largest infrastructure projects to be seen in northern Germany over the last 50 years: the JadeWeser Port in Wilhelmshaven, Germany's only deep-water port for the future generation of ultra-large container ships. The first of these highly modern jumbo container ships are scheduled to call on the JadeWeserPort in October 2011 when the terminal enters service. MARISSA is an alliance of leading technological and business companies and institutions in Bremen and the surrounding region. The initiators of MARISSA are internationally operating industrial companies with extensive market knowledge and a strong market position in their respective fields of activity. The Bremen Economic Development Company (WFB) supports the development of MARISSA and provides coordinating functions, the establishment of theme-related location marketing and technological showcases, along with accompanying support from state funds according to needs and budget capabilities.

The competence network for the development of high-performance composites (Kompetenznetz CFK-Valley Stade e.V.) brings together the world's leading partners for CFRP (carbon-fibre reinforced plastic) lightweight construction technology. The concentration of expertise created as a result along the entire value-added chain releases enormous innovative energy to the benefit of everyone involved. It is the basis for technological innovations that yield key advantages in the competition for customers and market shares.

Kompetenznetz Individuallogistik e.V. is an alliance of various logistics companies, universities and public institutions in the Osnabrück, Münster and Bielefeld region. The aim of KNI is to enhance the visibility and perception of the region as a logistics location, to stimulate people's interest in logistics and to expand existing cooperations.

The Growth Region Ems Axis extends from East Frisia in the north along the Netherlands border down to the border with North Rhine-Westphalia. The "Logistics Axis Ems" is the name of a network within this growth region in which regional logistics players from different fields cooperate together as partners to strengthen the industrial and business community and to secure jobs in the region.
