In 2007 the regional NordWest Awards has been announced for the 3rd time. With this prize projects and initiatives that foster the development of the northwest region through exceptional drive and creativity will be honoured. Since awareness for all the unique regions in Europe is growing the northwest region of Germany also needs to present its distinctive profile and potential.

Projects that might be awarded need to fulfill the main criteria: they need to positively impact the living and working together in its region and furthermore must be known and positioned beyond its region.

RegIS-Online – the business portal in the northwest has been selected from 122 applicants to be one of the ten finalists. This choice demonstrates the high value of the web portal. The web portal has been available since 1997. It is presenting the business potential of the northwest region and is offering several helpful services to investors and companies: high-value information about innovative companies, availability of industrial sites and properties, location information and contacts to regional development agencies.

Regis-Online does not only stand out because of the quality of its content but also because of efficient cooperation in a network with municipal development agencies of 27 regional authorities.

By offering its information in German and English the web portal demonstrates the northwest region is present among Europe’s regions.
