Strengthening the maritime economy

Companies found the "Maritime Safety" cluster and intend to promote Bremen internationally as competence centre

Against the background of increasing goods flows throughout the world and rising demands made on security and environmental protection, the subject of "Maritime Safety and Surveillance" is becoming a very important one. The German federal state of Bremen is home to a particularly large number of competent industrial companies, research facilities and service providers in this field. In future, they will be focusing to a stronger degree on enhancing the technical competence of the state and the region and on promoting Bremen as a competence centre for maritime security both nationally and internationally. To this end, the companies Atlas Elektronik GmbH, Astrium GmbH, Beluga Shipping GmbH, OHB-System AG, Rheinmetal Defence Electronics GmbH and CEON GmbH have joined forces to form the competence cluster "Maritime Safety and Surveillance".
