Many hundred enterprises took part in an online questionary to communicate their demand for
qualification and continuing education: For many companies continuing education is a current issue.
Most of the respondents see a high demand for qualification in certain fields – with an increasing
tendency. Especially small and medium sized enterprises are looking for help with vocational
training.
The first report of „Weiterbildungspanel Niedersachsen - WepaN“ shows the fields and which
type of continuing education is necessary. Provider of qualification and continuing education may
use these results to optimize their own offers. Most companies favour a market-oriented range of
programs that is reconciled with their own needs.
WepaN is a new tool which has been developed within an European research project and gets
supported by the economics ministry of Lower Saxony. WepaN enables continuing inquiries about the
need of additional qualification for the first time in Lower Saxony. Numerous provider of
continuing education, chambers and organizations support WepaN.
