Saving resources through water treatment systems, acting sustainable with ecological corporate concepts, saving energy through computer programs – these are only some ideas to successfully participate in the ”company re-ward environment“. The environmental price initiated by the senator for building, environment and traffic of the city of Bremen started on May 7th, 2007 into a new round. The competition is enabled by the Bremen Aufbau-Bank GmbH and rewards exemplary business environmental commitment in the metropolitan region Bremen Oldenburg since 2003. This year the price money is 50.000 Euros in total and therefore the contest belongs to one of the highest endowed environmental prizes in Germany.

This year there are additional chances to win a prize for environmental and climate-protecting solutions in the fields of logistics or energy as well as for successful transfer of scientific results into economic use: The Kieserling Holding GmbH, the Bremen Energie-Konsens GmbH and the city of Olden-burg donate additional awards. Furthermore swb and the metropolitan re-gion Bremen Oldenburg support the competition, which is proclaimed for the second time in the northwest.

The “company reward environment” addresses companies, which reside in one of the following places: city of Bremen, city of Bremerhaven, city of Delmenhorst, city of Oldenburg, city of Wilhelmshaven, municipality of Am-merland, municipality of Cloppenburg, municipality of Cuxhaven, municipal-ity of Diepholz, municipality of Friesland, municipality of Oldenburg, munici-pality of Osterholz, municipality of Vechta, municipality of Verden or munici-pality of Wesermarsch. All applying projects should be on a more developed level than just being an idea and already cause positive effects on enter-prises as well as on the environment. Projects transferring scientific envi-ronmental innovations into economic use should be on a real entrepreneu-rial level.
