Kompetenznetz Individuallogistik e.V. is an alliance of various logistics companies, universities and public institutions in the Osnabrück, Münster and Bielefeld region. The aim of KNI is to enhance the visibility and perception of the region as a logistics location, to stimulate people's interest in logistics and to expand existing cooperations.

Kompetenzzentrum Gesundheitswirtschaft e.V. (GewiNet)

The healthcare competence centre "GewiNet - Kompetenzzentrum Gesundheitswirtschaft e.V." provides the platform for a health sector network in the Weser-Ems region. More than 90,000 people work in clinics, medical practices and healthcare companies in this region. Public health facilities are based here that enjoy a reputation and significance over and beyond the immediate region. At the universities and tertiary colleges in Osnabrück and Oldenburg, scientists conduct research in health economics, the health sciences, medical technology, and many other relevant fields. Through the networking of all those involved, the aim is to achieve synergies that benefit not only the protagonists themselves but also the patients.

The state initiative for food industry bundles competencies and know-how in all areas of the food industry for all of Lower Saxony. As of January 1, 2010, the national food industry initiative was launched. After the successful application for the continuation in 2018, the University of Vechta and the DIL German Institute for Food Technology e.V. were awarded the contract to oversee the state initiative from 2019 to 2021.

Logistics Network Hansalinie

The logistics network of the Growth Region Hansalinie comprises enterprises, institutions and organizations in the five administrative districts Cloppenburg, Diepholz, Oldenburg, Osnabrück and Vechta along the A1 motorway (the so-called "Hanseatic Line"). The objective of the collaboration is to improve the transport, logistics and training infrastructure in the region and systematically enhance the regional advantages for business location.

Maritime Cluster Northern Germany

The Maritime Cluster Northern Germany is made up of leading businesses, research institutions, industry associations, universities and maritime industry networks from Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. The network is rounded off by strategic partnerships with businesses and research institutions outside the Cluster. The Lower Saxony Office of the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany started work at the Maritime Research Centre in Elsfleth in June 2011. It is initially concentrating on shipping companies, ports and harbours, shipyards, ship suppliers, the offshore industry and marine engineering.

Medical Technology Research Network

Medical technology and engineering is a field with a growing market and a large economic potential that requires a considerable investment in research and development. The Niedersachsen universities are working on application-oriented solutions in this field in various different departments and institutes. The aim of the research network is to combine this expertise and exploit synergy effects to initiate inter-university research projects in collaboration with business enterprises. The cooperation between universities, hospitals, scientific institutes and medical technology companies is promoted and supported.

Niedersachsen Aviation

Niedersachsen Aviation is the state initiative to support the aerospace industry in Niedersachsen. The objective is to consolidate and improve the competitiveness of Niedersachsen and of North Germany in the national and international arena. With targeted measures in the fields of technology transfer, innovation, location development and settlement policy, the strengths of the aviation and space industry are to be further enhanced through Niedersachsen Aviation. Alongside this goal, the initiative aims to achieve an active transfer of know-how and technology into other areas of the mobility sector as well. The value added for companies is the constant focus of activities. To this end, the initiative offers a broad spectrum of services in the fields of network management, project management, information and public relations. Niedersachsen Aviation is represented throughout the state through its business offices and partners, and is the central point of contact for all aviation, aeronautic and astronautic issues.

Niedersachsen Broadband Competence Centre

The centre is the operative instrument of the Niedersachsen Broadband initiative (“ Breitbandinitiative Niedersachsen”), run by the state's ministries and local government federations and by the administrative district of Osterholz. The competence centre provides information on events, lectures and workshops and supports the regions in the analysis, further technological development and market-based provision of broadband Internet networks.
